Steps for getting on the PT Delphi Forum:1.
If you follow these instructions precisely and still have problems, please let me know: thepainfultruth@hotmail.com If you think that you may not have followed them precisely, please try it again.
First, register with Delphi: http://www.delphi.com/
After you register with Delphi, they will send you a registration confirmation. You can use that link in the message to log into Delphi.
2.
When you log in for your first time, you will not have any forums in your "My Forums" area.
3.
In your browser, type in this address: http://www.delphi.com/thepainfultruth/
4.
This will take you to a page that will tell you that you are not a current member of the forum. Type in a short message and hit the Send Message button.
5.
When I get your message, I will send you the current Group Registration Code.
Go to http://www.delphi.com/thepainfultruth and enter your code. If you ever replace your hard drive or delete your "cookies" you may have to email me again for a new Code.
Delphi will put a cookie on your hard drive so that every time you return to The PT Forum, you will be recognized as a member. Websites are doing this to your computer all the time so it isn't something that you necessarily have to worry about Delphi doing.
If, for some reason, this cookie gets deleted, you will have to go through the login process again and let them save the cookie to your hard drive.
The Rules
The forum is here for former or current members or mates or children the cult of The Worldwide Church of God, its Daughter churches and Armstrongism in General and it is here for those who are just looking for a little fellowship among those who have gone through the same experiences.
Need to vent about what you went through or what you suffered? Go ahead. We are all at different levels of healing, knowledge and understanding. We will be getting new members on here all the time and they may be at the same point now, where we were five years ago. Let's be tolerant of that fact and not belittle others for not being as healed as we think we are. If you want to pick at that scab, WCG, go ahead. It helps to talk about it and that is why this forum is here.
This Forum will be a place where freedom of thought can be
expressed about the WCG pain and abuse that helped destroy many lives. If we allow freedom of thought and not try to analyze everything being said, then it could be helpful for all to see that others have similar feelings, but not exact experiences.
Nobody should be thought of as the "leader" of this forum. I have not delegated that to anyone.
This forum will be Semi-Moderated. Messages quoting Bible verses, preaching or promoting the Christian religion or any other religion that is derived from the Bible or promoting various bible doctrines or beliefs, or containing personal attacks will be Deleted. Messages with extensive usage of CAPITALIZATION or no capitalization at all, such as not capitalizing the first letter of the first word in a sentence or not capitalizing the word "I", and doing it deliberately, may be deleted and the poster banned from the forum. (Sorry, just a pet peeve of mine. I think 99% of the posters can handle this.) Personal attacks, insulting remarks and name calling against fellow members will be grounds for being removed from the forum. If you have been an asshole and you find you can't get back in, don't bother writing to ask why.
Christians are welcome here but may be offended at the beliefs of those that post here. For that, I apologize in advance. But, I think I heard many times that a true Christian will be offended at nothing.
If you are still offended and therefore not a true Christian, please do a search for a forum that will suit you.
Everybody play nice. Please note also that using ALL CAPS on the internet is the same as YELLING in person. Please don't over do it.
With the message board, you can view discussion folders quickly in the left-hand column and read up to 20 messages at a time. You can even attach files (such as pictures and programs) directly to messages -- just like e-mail. It's fast, easy, and efficient.
Customizing:
Here is a tip for customizing your settings:
When you are on the forum, at the upper left or right of your screen you will see the words: "My Forums". Click on this.
Then in the left column, select "Reading Preferences"
Then select "Advanced Mode." I have mine set to 20 messages per page. This way you can view 20 messages in the thread all at once. It is great. Be sure to save your settings.
You can also change the font size you will be viewing at.
You can also view all messages, new messages, etc; many different settings.
You can go back and edit your messages if you see you have made a mistake once the message is posted. You can also delete any messages you posted and any messages posted TO you.
There are lots of customizations possible.
I've chosen to make this Forum Private so you must join in order to post.
Click Here if you are having problems logging on or registering with Delphi.
